I know, like many of you, I'm here in Michigan trying to find my place. For many years I worked in quality for a number of automotive suppliers but my position, along with many others, went to China because of cost. Didn't let that stop me - went back to school - learned about medical billing/coding and administration. Took those skills, added them to the ones I already had, and started again. I'm out here - trying to find my place. How 'bout you?

Happy about this website - just completed resume but it didn't allow me to put in the correct dates for my jobs and schooling! It makes me look like an idiot! I couldn't have possibly done everything on 3/9/10!!! I tried to contact the website administrators but no option to do so. Not good!

Eugene Hsu is a student at MIT. He has a very unique personal website and resume online. It is all drawn in what appears to be Microsoft Paint or a similar program. It is crudely rendered, funny, and extremely memorable. He is taking a chance and standing out from the crowd. This will almost certainly make some potential employers turn up their noses at him, but by created a polarizing resume he will stand out from potentially hundreds of other applicants for jobs he applies to. And, when he finds the employer that loves his approach he'll probably fit in pretty well at that job.
Of course this isn't the right way for everyone to go, but it's good to see what is out there beyond the standard resume templates and cover letters. Think about how you can stand out from the crowd with your resume and profile on Hired on the Spot, try creating a video resume, write regularly on your blog, and see what you can do to be remembered.
